Visions of Past, Present, Future
While in San Francisco for the highly-engaging Association of Science and Technology Centers conference, I'm taking every opportunity to immerse myself in the cultural resources that the Bay Area offers and look forward to sharing my anecdotes with everyone once I return.
In the meantime, I can't help but reconnect with conference experiences from years past. The above photo was taken at the Milwaukee Public Museum. A menagerie of fungus replicas, giant pinecones, and other items of nature greeted visitors as we ascended the main stairway to the exhibits floor. It was the first time I had been to the Museum in over 10 years, but since then I've been privileged to work with many members of the team on various projects.
Having provided some content consultation towards fungi of the Northwoods, I look forward to seeing our familiar fungi represented in the new exhibits to take shape in our friends' new museum, the Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin, launching in 2027.
