Cal Academy - in the Details

My shortlist of stellar museums continues to grow after every trip away from home. The attractive, multi-faceted California Academy of Sciences immediately drew me in as I rode the indulgent transportation provided to an invested group of natural history museum professionals. My eyes followed the impressive San Francisco Bay landscape, with the bus entering Golden Gate Park, winding through the colossal Monterrey Cypress and Blue Gum trees so notable to that area.

Cal Academy itself is quite large, operating as a collaborative of stand-alone exhibits - vivarium, aquarium, and natural history museum all in one impressive, giant scene. But much like the displays at the equally impressive Exploratorium, it was those that colored the smaller details that attracted my deeper focus. What treasures were revealed with a microscope? How many wonders could be found within just a single display?
